TURN: A Galentine's Brunch & Smutty Book Exchange
TURN
A Galentine's Brunch & Smutty Book Exchange
Tacoma, Washington
TURN is a Galentine's gathering designed for women who love good food, good stories, and conversations that feel fun and a touch naughty.
This is a brunch where romance novels, desire, and curiosity are treated as normal, intelligent parts of being human.
TURN is is a community-forward experience built around brunch, a smutty book exchange, and a few carefully placed moments of insight about pleasure, fantasy, and desire.
Your Host
TURN is hosted by the PLEASURE ATELIER, Shauna Stewart, a certified sexuality educator and intimacy coach and founder of Linger Boutique.
Shauna’s work sits at the intersection of pleasure, emotional literacy, and everyday life. With a background in public leadership and years of experience guiding intimate conversations, she is known for creating spaces that feel both thoughtful and disarmingly easy to be in. Her approach is grounded, informed, and deeply human, offering clarity without performance and education without shame.
She hosts gatherings the way she lives her work: with warmth, structure, and a deep respect for consent and choice. Nothing is forced, and nothing is rushed. Whether she is facilitating a retreat, a salon, or a brunch table, Shauna’s focus is on helping people feel safe enough to be curious and relaxed enough to enjoy themselves.
TURN reflects her belief that desire, fantasy, and pleasure are not niche interests or guilty pleasures, but normal, intelligent parts of being alive. This gathering is an extension of that philosophy, designed to feel playful, welcoming, and quietly expansive.
What the Morning Feels Like
You will arrive to a warm, welcoming space in Downtown Tacoma, where mimosas are waiting and brunch is already set. The atmosphere is relaxed, social, and easy to settle into.
You will enjoy a full brunch with food and mimosas, participate in a white elephant–style smutty book exchange, and take part in two short educational conversations woven naturally into the gathering. These moments are designed to feel more like smart brunch conversation than a stuffy lesson, offering clarity and perspective.
There will also be time to browse a curated selection of sexual wellness products and learn about upcoming retreats for those who feel curious to explore further. Engagement is always optional, and nothing is rushed.
The Smutty Book Exchange
Each guest is invited to bring one wrapped romance or smut-adjacent book to exchange. The exchange will be facilitated in a classic white elephant format, creating moments of anticipation, laughter, and surprise as books are chosen and occasionally stolen.
Books should be romance-forward, playful, or pleasure-centered. If a book includes darker themes or intense content (everything is welcome here), guests are asked to clearly note that on the outside of the wrapping so that everyone can choose with consent and clarity. This keeps the exchange light, respectful, and fun for all participants.
The Educational Moments
TURN includes two brief, accessible educational segments that explore topics such as how desire actually works, why fantasy is not a reflection of morality or intent, and how stories can help us better understand what we want.
These moments are intentionally concise and conversational. They are meant to spark reflection and normalize curiosity rather than instruct or analyze. You are invited to listen, consider, and take what resonates.
